Assassins Creed 2 / Mass effect 2

Two great games this month to play.
1st, Assassins Creed 2, I never got around to getting the 1st Assassins creed but the 2nd one proved quite addictive. I did worry that I might be scaring people a work with my talk of killing lots of people in renaissance Italy with hidden knives but it soon passed after showing them some of the youtube vids.
After 30-40 hours of gameplay I actually managed to get all 1000 GS for it which is a rarity for me.
360/ps3 version: good, PC version: Bad bad DRM

Mass Effect 2, I loved the 1st one so was hopeful for the 2nd and wasn’t disappointed.
The control system has been impoved and a cover system added (everything has a cover system these days), the new biotic powers are fun.
I imported by old ME1 character for extra points and all the other lovely touches (Read about them at masseffect.wikia.com) that doing so brings.

Moon (2009)

Moon (2009) – IMDB – Decent enough, but not as special as I hoped.

Whilst not a big budget flick, (only cost around $5 million) the effects were more than enough to support the plot and whilst quite a lot of suspension of believe is required I think it is worth it.

OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard: Missing icons issue + suggested solution

Just updated to snow leopard which took around an hour. Looks like it worked ok except for a few apps that no longer work (expect compatible versions soon enough).

One issue I did come across was that random icons were missing from the desktop / applications / finder side bar etc.
A normal reboot or two didn’t seem to fix it

The solution after a quick search seems to be to delete com.apple.desktop.plist and com.apple.dock.plist from “User>Library>Preferences>” which means the dock defaults back to default which is annoying but at least files will have icons again.

A quick reboot/restart and all was back to normal for me.

Movie Time: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)

This evening ended up being a cinema night, ended up going to see

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)(imdb).

I did actually quite enjoy it, lots of action, a decent amount of silliness and they melted the Effiel Tower (That’s in the trailer, so not really a spoiler ).
What more could anyone want from a fun action flick?

The demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum is now out (PSN and XBL Marketplace) and seems enjoyable enough to think about buying when it finally comes out. (Youtube Trailer)

Finally found something to spend some of my microsoft points on, I had been waiting for it since it was announced but the demo won me over. The demo is worth a play as at worst you should have 30 minutes of explosions and killing.
